John Wolfe & Elizabeth Jones.
New Castle, Pennsylvania.
John and Elizabeth moved into town to 33 Mercer Street, New Castle by the 1880 census. John, 31, worked as a clerk in a shop. Elizabeth, 30, kept house as well as a watchful eye over her two children. Our ancestor Lula was 10 and her younger brother George was 8 and both attended school. Mary Estelle "Birdie" was born on June 5th of that year and so missed being counted in the census taken at her home two days before.
Elizabeth's mother Mary Jones and her brother lived in the Shenango Township in 1880, though they were soon next door at 39 Mercer.
The couple had one more child in Pennsylvania. Their son Walter Hamilton was born June 1, 1882.
