Pierre Daunay and Marguerite Robert.

The couple signed their contract for marriage on 23 October 1702 before the notaire Marien Tailhandier in Montréal. Pierre married Marguerite Robert dit La Fontaine in Boucherville on 6 November 1702, the same day his brother Antoine married her sister Marie. They started their family of nine children with a set of twins baptized in July 1704 in Sorel about 40 miles downriver.

Judging from baptism records, the family was fairly mobile. Only two of their children, Louise and Charlotte, were baptized in Boucherville. Our ancestor SUZANNE was baptized 40 miles down river in Sorel on 30 September 1712. The last four's records were found across the Saint-Laurent River in Saint-Sulpice.

There is at least one record of his trek west to trade for furs, that being on 19 March 1715. His brother-in-law Jacques Robert signed up for the same excursion.

Pierre was 46 when he died on 04 April 1723 in Saint-Sulpice leaving Marguerite with a number of young children. Our ancestor Marie-Suzanne married in 1733. Marguerite Robert lived to the age of 83 and died in Boucherville on 18 December 1766 in Boucherville.

Baptism records for Daunay children were found in several towns
