The Vallée Family.
In France.
Pierre Vallée and Madeleine Dumesnil raised their ten children in the farming community of Saint-Saëns, Normandie. It was situated roughly between Rouen and Dieppe, on La Varenne river.
Glassmakers plied their trade in the small town which also was known for its potters and cuttlers.
Our ancestor Pierre was sponsored by Guillaume LeGrand and Catherine Carrol at his baptism on 6 June 1636.
Madeleine Dumesnil was buried 20 March 1646 leaving her husband with several young children. Pierre was but ten years old.
In 1657 our then 21 year old ancestor Pierre Vallée was found in New France. His father had died on 28 March 1657. Pierre was joined two years later by his younger brother Jean.
