Lériger and Hubert.
Pierre Lériger sieur de LaPlante.
Though born 25 October 1704, Pierre was not baptized until four years later on 20 September. It was said he appeared to be dying, perhaps the same affliction that killed his infant brother Clement that same day.
Marriage to Marie-Louise Hubert dit LaCroix.
8 April 1726, at the age of 22, Pierre acquired 60 acres of land from the Jesuits through a contract prepared by the notary Guillaume Barette of Montréal. This was the same notary who would prepare his marriage contract 15 July 1728 in preparation for his marriage to the 26 year old Marie-Louise Hubert dit LaCroix of Montréal. Both her parents were deceased, but her half-brother Pierre Hubert LaCroix signed the marriage record which was also witnessed by his father and the surgeon Lalanne among others.
He, like his father and brothers, took the title Sieur de La Plante. Pierre and Louise had 11 children, including our ancestor Marie-Antoinette. Their seventh child, she was born in LaPrairie 14 June 1738 and would later marry Nicolas Bulteau.
Pierre's date of death is not found, though it occurred sometime before the death of his son Nicolas on 7 January 1754. Louise lived in LaPrairie until her death on 15 February 1772 at the age of 70.
